Most domestic flights go to the Tenerife North Airport, TFN. All charter flights go to the Tenerife South Airport, TFS. Most people travelling on scheduled flights will have to fly via Madrid or Barcelona and then on to the northern airport. Three airlines fly scheduled flights in from the Spanish mainland: Iberia, Air Europa and Spanair. The strong competition between them has substantially lowered the airfares to the Canaries in the past years.

Los Rodeos is located 11 km by road from the capital Santa Cruz, whilst Puerto de la Cruz is 28 km away. The popular resorts of Los Cristianos and Las Americas lie 90 km away to the south-west.
