UK LIMITS FROM TENERIFE
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250g smoking tobacco; 1L spirits over 22% or 2L spirits under 22%, 2L sparkling wine and 2L of any other wine. £145 worth of other goods including gifts and souvenirs. 60 ml perfume, 250 ml eau de toilette
Tenerife island is duty free, not just the airport. You should get anything from 20-50% discount off perfumes, around 70%!! discount off cigarettes and around an average 20% discount off electrical items, beware though some items will NOT work in the UK even with a transformer, ask before purchasing anything.
Supermarkets are also the cheapest for both cigarettes and alcohol. The major brands are all available and also in plastic bottles to aid with getting them back to the UK.
Electrical -items are bartarable, however unless you are sure of what you are purchasing we would recommend that you make your purchase from a department store that offers a guarantee. If you purchase from an electrical shop in resort and if you're not happy with what you've bought you won't get a replacement or a refund, even if you find a fault! In the department stores you would.
There is lots of British foods to be eaten on the island, they even cater for our British cup of tea, with most of the major brands available in the larger supermarkets.
